Die kanadische Sopranistin Marjorie Patterson
studierte am Brooklyn College und schloß ihre Ausbildung mit dem Master of Music Degree an der Juilliard School in New York ab. Sie gewann Preise im Concours International de Musique de Montreal und anderen nationalen und internationalen Wettbewerben. Auftritte mit einem weitgefächerten Konzert- und Oratorienrepertoire - von Haydns Schöpfung bis zum Verdi-Requiem und den Vier
letzten Liedern von Richard Strauss - führten sie von ihrem Heimatland Kanada in die USA, die Niederlande, nach Polen, Rußland und schließlich nach Deutschland, wo sie jetzt lebt. Im Mittelpunkt ihrer Recitals stehen Lieder und vokale Kammermusik bekannter wie “wiederentdeckter” deutscher Komponisten des 19. Jahrhunderts. Ihre Opernrollen reichen von Mozart und Beethoven bis Verdi, Wagner und Strauss. Für ihre Darstellung von Titelpartien in zeitgenössischen Opern, deren Uraufführungen sie am Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts sang, erhielt sie höchstes Lob von der New York Times - ebenso wie von der deutschen Musikkritik für ihre Mozart-, Weber- und Verdi-Interpretationen.

Canadian soprano Marjorie Patterson graduated from the City University of New York (Brooklyn College) and received a Master of Music Degree from the Juilliard School.
She was a prize winner in the Concours International de Musique de Montreal and other national and international competitions. Miss Patterson's extended oratorio and concert
repertoire, ranging from Haydn's Creation to Verdi's Requiem and Strauss's Four Last Songs, has brought her from her native Canada to the US, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia,
and to Germany, where she now resides. The focus of her recitals are lieder and vocal chamber music by nineteenth-century German composers—both well-known
and “revived” composers. Her opera roles range from Mozart and Beethoven to Verdi, Wagner, and Strauss. Her portrayals of leading roles in contemporary operas, which she
created at the Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts, were greeted with the critical acclaim already accorded her performances of Mozart, Weber, and Verdi.

Werner Hagen, geboren in Karlsruhe, studierte Klavier, Dirigieren und Komposition in Frankfurt. Nach Kompositionsunterricht bei Bruno Maderna und Engagements als
Korrepetitor und Dirigent u.a.
an der Deutschen Oper Berlin von 1967 bis 1972 wurde er Studienleiter beim Norddeutschen Rundfunk in Hamburg. In dieser Funktion leitete er zahlreiche Einstudierungen und Aufnahmen mit einem breiten Repertoire vom Barock bis zur Moderne. Werner Hagen ist Professor an der Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst Hamburg und ist als Pianist sowie als Komponist von Kammermusikwerken, Chorwerken, Liedern und Bühnenmusiken hervorgetreten.

Werner Hagen, born in Karlsruhe, studied piano, conducting, and composition in Frankfurt. After compositional studies with Bruno Maderna and an engagement as coach and
conductor at the Deutsche Oper Berlin from 1967 to 1972 he joined the staff of the North German Radio. There he conducted and supervised numerous recordings featuring a
broad repertoire from the Baroque to the modern era.
Werner Hagen serves as professor at the Hochschule in Hamburg and has distinguished himself as a pianist as well as a composer of chamber-music works, choral pieces, songs, and stage music.
